Information
In Tibetan medicine, treatment of tobacco smoking, as well as any other disease, makes sense only when a person is ready to change his way of thinking and life. This is connected with the following postulates of Eastern medicine: it is necessary to treat not only the diseased organ, but the whole organism; everything that surrounds a person and what he or she consumes as food is a medicine. Of course, we are not calling to leave the urban environment, which is certainly harmful for a person, we are only trying to bring the whole organism, which is in those conditions in which we all live, to the balance as gently as possible.
So, the treatment is possible with a firm desire to quit smoking, as well as on condition of functional balance of the whole organism, especially the liver and gall bladder. These organs are responsible in the human body for the development of hangover syndrome (withdrawal syndrome). That is why it is so important to carry out a course of treatment with Tibetan phytopreparations regulating the functions of the liver, gallbladder, purifying blood and liver in parallel with acupuncture.
The very scheme of acupuncture treatment is individual. It depends on the state and type of nervous activity of the smoker, smoking history, environment and many other factors. Sometimes treatment takes only one session: placing needles in the ear lobe and in some points on the body for 30-40 minutes helps a person to quit smoking forever. In other cases, several sessions, from three to seven, are needed.
In more complicated cases, when a patient has a combination of chronic obstructive bronchitis with liver, vascular and heart diseases, treatment is supported by taking Tibetan purifying phytopreparations, prescribing acupressure, burning with wormwood cigar.
The effectiveness of such treatment is almost 100 per cent. But the important thing in the treatment of tobacco smoking is the mutual desire of the patient and the doctor to stand on the same side of the ‘barricades’.
